Brewers give back with #KindnessinMKE

Fans are encouraged to join the effort to spread kindness throughout the community

August 20th, 2020

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers #KindnessInMKE initiative is back and will take place Friday, Aug. 28.

This year, the Club is encouraging everyone connected to the Brewers organization – players, staff and fans – to pause during the day on Aug. 28 to take part in spreading kindness virtually or from afar. This is the fourth year that the Brewers have dedicated a day to the initiative encouraging everyone to do something spontaneous and impactful for our community.

“We’re encouraging our staff, players and supporters to be creative and give back to the community in no-contact or virtual initiatives,” said Rick Schlesinger, Brewers President – Business Operations. “This year, more than ever, there is a great need for unity, compassion, love and respect in our communities. The intention is to be thoughtful and bring a smile to someone's face whether that’s through a simple gesture or something more elaborate.”

The Milwaukee Brewers are looking to fans to come together to spread kindness on this day. Every effort, small and large, makes an impact. A gesture could be as simple as reaching out to someone who would benefit from a phone call, or purchasing coffee for the next car behind in a drive-thru line. Donations of items or funds to a favorite charity is another idea, as is creating a care package for a neighbor and leaving it with a nice note at their front door.

All participants, including fans, are asked to let us know of their kind deeds by using the hashtag #KindnessInMKE on social media platforms.
