Brewers name Minor League Players and Pitchers of the Month for June

Wilson and Warren Earn Players of the Month; Small and Uribe Named Pitchers of the Month

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson and catcher/infielder Zavier Warren as their Minor League Players of the Month for June and left-hander Ethan Small and right-hander Abner Uribe as Minor League Pitchers of the Month.
 
Wilson, 26, hit .272 (22-for-81) with 5 HR and 7 RBI in 24 games for Triple-A Nashville in June, making starts at six different defensive positions (8gs SS, 3gs 1B, 3gs RF, 2gs LF, 2gs 2B, 2gs 3B) and one start at designated hitter.
 
Selected by Milwaukee in the 17th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, Wilson’s eight doubles in June were tied for sixth-most in the Triple-A East.
 
Warren, 22, batted .313 (20-for-64) with 7 HR and 16 RBI in 18 games with Low-A Carolina during June.
 
Drafted by the Brewers in the third round of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft, Warren led the Low-A East in home runs (7), slugging percentage (.703) and OPS (1.160) for the month, ranked second in on-base percentage (.457), tied for seventh in walks (16), tied for eighth in total bases (45) and ninth in batting average (.313).
 
Small, 24, split June between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville, combining to go 1-1 with a 0.82 ERA (33ip, 3er) with 45 strikeouts and a .156 opponent batting average (17-for-109) in six starts.
 
Selected by Milwaukee in the first round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, Small surrendered just one earned run over 24.1 innings for a 0.37 ERA in his four starts with Biloxi in June. He made his Triple-A debut on June 24, allowing two runs over 2.2 innings before rebounding to toss 6.0 scoreless innings on June 30 vs. Louisville.
 
Uribe, 21, allowed one run over 17.1 innings (0.52 ERA) with two saves in seven appearances for Low-A Carolina in June. Signed as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2018, Uribe struck out 27 of the 68 batters he faced in June and limited opponents to a .140 batting average (8-for-57).
