Club now a nine-time award winner as one of the best workplaces in NE Ohio

August 22nd, 2019

Cleveland, OH—The Cleveland Indians proudly announce their selection as a 2019 NorthCoast 99 Winner – one of the best workplaces in Northeast Ohio. The organization is now a nine-time NorthCoast 99 Award winner and was the first professional sports franchise to earn this prestigious award in 2009.

NorthCoast 99 is in its 21st year of recognizing 99 great Northeast Ohio workplaces for top talent. Winners participated in a rigorous application process that asked for detailed information on how their organization addresses top-performer attraction, development, and retention in five distinct areas: organizational strategy, policies, and communication; recruitment, selecting, and onboarding; employee well-being; employee engagement and development; and total rewards.

“We are extremely proud to be chosen for this award for the ninth time, as our teammates are at the core of what we believe in at the Cleveland Indians,” said Sara Lehrke, Indians Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer. “Our organization is grateful that our employees have a voice through ERC’s application process to validate that our culture is truly being represented in the nomination process. We continually strive to be a competitive Northeast Ohio workplace with top talent as we work to unite and inspire our city with the power of team.”
