D-backs option Yasmany Tomas to Triple-A Reno

Kevin Cron reinstated from injured list and optioned to Reno

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned INF/OF Yasmany Tomás to Triple-A Reno today. Last night, the D-backs reinstated INF Kevin Cron from the 10-day injured list (right elbow inflammation) and optioned him to Reno.

Tomás, 28, appeared in 4 games for the D-backs (0-for-6). He was a Pacific Coast League mid-season All-Star and the Triple-A Home Run Derby winner for Reno. In 98 games with the Aces, he is hitting .305 (119-for-390)/.341 OBP/.603 SLG with 23 doubles, 3 triples, 29 home runs and 80 RBI.

Cron, 26, appeared in 1 rehab game for the Rookie-level AZL D-backs, last night @ AZL Cubs 2, and went 1-for-4 with a 2-run home run in the first inning. In 27 games with Arizona this season, he is batting .207 (12-for-58) with 4 doubles, 5 home runs and 15 RBI and 10 runs scored. He was a Pacific Coast League mid-season All-Star for Reno. In 56 games with the Aces, he is hitting .338 (70-for-207)/.448 OBP/.836 SLG with 16 doubles, 29 home runs, 80 RBI and 40 walks.
