Dodgers activate LHP Victor González

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-handed pitcher Victor González and optioned right-handed pitcher Mitch White.

González, 25, was placed on the injured list on August 6 with a right knee inflammation. He made a rehab start for Low-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday, allowing three runs in 0.1 innings of work with one strikeout. He is 3-1 with a 3.82 ERA (14 ER/33.0 IP) and 32 strikeouts in 42 games this season. In his career, he is combined 6-1 with a 2.87 ERA (17 ER/53.1 IP) and 55 strikeouts. He was originally signed as an international free agent on July 2, 2012 out of Tuxpan, Nayarit, Mexico.

White, 25, recorded his first win of the season last night, tossing 7.1 innings of scoreless baseball. He became the first Dodger pitcher to toss 6.0+ innings in a relief appearance pitcher since Pedro Astacio fired 6.1 innings in relief on Sept. 29, 1996 against San Diego and he is the first Dodger reliever to go 7.1 scoreless since Ed Roebuck tossed 9.0 innings on June 24, 1960. On season, he is 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA (12 ER/35.1 IP) and 35 strikeouts in 17 games for the Dodgers. The former second rounder out of Santa Clara University is 2-2 with a 2.82 ERA (12 ER/38.1 IP) in 19 career MLB games.
