Giants trade left-handed pitcher Derek Holland and cash considerations to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cashconsiderations

San Francisco, Calif. — The San Francisco Giants announced today that they have traded left-handed pitcher Derek Holland and cash considerations to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cash considerations.

The 32-year-old had a record of 2-4 with a 5.90 ERA in 31 games (seven starts) in what was his second season in a Giants uniform this year. He started the season in the Giants’ rotation and went 1-4 with a 6.75 ERA in seven starts before being moved to the bullpen where he logged a 5.03 ERA in 24 appearances.

Holland has posted a 78-77 record with a 4.51 ERA in 275 games (221 starts) over 11 Major League seasons with the Texas Rangers (2009-2016), Chicago White Sox (2017) and San Francisco Giants (2018-19).
