Indians claim RHP Jordan Humphreys from San Francisco

DFA RHP Adam Cimber to make room on 40-man roster

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the 2021 40-man roster.

Claimed RHP Jordan Humphreys from San Francisco.

Designated RHP Adam Cimber for assignment.

Humphreys, 24, last pitched as a member of the New York Mets organization in 2019, appearing in two games with the Mets Rookie team in the Gulf Coast League (2.0IP, 1R/ER, BB, 2SO, 8BF) and four games with the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League where he was honored as a “Rising Star” for his performance (11.2IP, 1R/ER, 4BB, 8S). The right-hander is 13-7 with a 2.60 ERA over 35 professional games/28 starts with 170 strikeouts and 30 walks (169.2IP, 60R/49ER, .227AVG, 1.03WHIP).

The Crystal River, Florida native was drafted by the New York Mets in the 18th round of the 2015 Draft and spent parts of five seasons with New York-NL, missing the 2018 season and most of 2019 rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He was recently designated for assignment by San Francisco after spending a part of 2020 with the organization on the restricted list. He was acquired by San Francisco on August 2, 2020 for OF Billy Hamilton.
