CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the 2019 Major League roster: 

Recalled RHP PHIL MATON (#88) from AAA Columbus.  

Optioned LHP LOGAN ALLEN to AAA Columbus.

Maton (MAY-tahn), 26, was acquired from San Diego on July 12 in exchange for international bonus pool allotments and is beginning his third stint with Cleveland. He was on Cleveland’s Major League roster, Aug. 2-4 and Aug. 7, but has yet to appear in a game. Around his tenure in Cleveland, he made nine relief outings in AAA Columbus, posting a 2.53 ERA (10.2IP, 5H, 3R/ER 4BB, 17SO, .143 avg, 14.3 SO/9.0IP). Prior to July 12, he split the season between AAA El Paso and San Diego, spending four stints at the Major League level with the Padres (7.77 ERA, 21ER/24.1IP). He recorded a 2.89 ERA in 13 relief outings in AAA El Paso (6ER/18.2IP).
