Pirates roster move for Aug. 16, 2019

The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled infielder Cole Tucker from Triple-A Indianapolis.

To make room on the 25-man active roster, right-handed pitcher Geoff Hartlieb has been optioned to Triple-A.

Tucker hit .196 (22-for-112) with eight doubles, two home runs and nine RBI in 38 games during his first stint with the Pirates from April 20 to June 8. Prior to being optioned back to Triple-A, he hit safely in five of his last six games with Pittsburgh, going 7-for-14 with four doubles and three RBI.

He hit .267 (73-for-273) with 12 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 27 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 44 runs scored in 67 games this season at Triple-A.
