BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Red Sox today added infielder/outfielder Danny Santana to the team’s 2021 Spring Training roster as a non-roster invitee. The Red Sox have now invited 35 players to Major League Spring Training camp as non-roster invitees.

Santana, 30, has played in 509 major league games with the Minnesota Twins (2014-17), Atlanta Braves (2017-18), and Texas Rangers (2019-20), batting .260 (422-for-1,624) with 42 home runs and 188 RBI. He posted career bests in 2019 with the Rangers in games played (130), hits (134), runs scored (81), home runs (28), RBI (81), stolen bases (21), slugging percentage (.534), and OPS (.857). The Dominican native has appeared at every defensive position with the exception of pitcher and catcher, making 132 starts in center field, 104 at shortstop, 51 at first base, 47 in left field, 20 in right field, 16 at second base, and 12 at third base.
