March 4th, 2021

BOSTON, MA –The Red Sox today issued the below statement from Red Sox President & CEO Sam Kennedy regarding Fenway Park as a mass vaccination site:

“The vaccination operation at Fenway Park has been the most important community activation in its 109-year history. We thank Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Polito and Secretary Sudders for the opportunity to participate in this critical effort. We are proud of the work that has been done over the past five weeks alongside our partners at CIC Health, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Cataldo Ambulance, and DMSE to create a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for over 26,000 vaccine recipients to date. That number will rise to over 55,000 by the end of March.

“We will continue to use our platform and our ballpark to encourage Massachusetts residents to get vaccinated, and we stand ready to assist the city and state in any way possible with this effort.”
