The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled outfielder Jack Suwinski from Triple-A Indianapolis.

To make room for Suwinski on the 26-man active roster, outfielder/first baseman Bligh Madris has been optioned to Triple-A.

This is Suwinski’s second stint with the Pirates this season. He was also with Pittsburgh from April 26 to July 15 after being promoted from Double-A Altoona.

Suwinski enters today ranked first among all National League rookies in home runs (14) and tied for sixth in extra base hits (23).

In addition, infielder Kevin Padlo has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A.
