Texas Rangers Equipment Drive moves online

Donations to benefit the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy

September 15th, 2020

Arlington, Texas — The 2020 Texas Rangers Equipment Drive begins this week and is being operated in a virtual format. Starting this Friday, September 18, fans can donate online to participate in the 16th annual event.

As part of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation’s commitment to support youth athletics, the Foundation will once again host the equipment drive. Rangers infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa will serve as the honorary chair for the third season.

Due to health and safety regulations, actual equipment may not be donated this year, however, fans may donate funds in any amount to purchase baseball and softball equipment.

Several donation tiers are available including a $25 donation that will provide one baseball cap, $45 will provide a box of baseballs or softballs, $75 will provide a glove, $150 for a bucket of baseballs, or $200 for one baseball or softball bat. Fans may also donate any custom amount at texasrangers.com/equipment.

Donations for the equipment drive are being accepted starting this Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 27.

All funds received will be used to purchase equipment for the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex presented by Toyota in West Dallas.

In addition, Academy Sports + Outdoors will be donating a $2,500 gift card to the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation to use for the purchase of equipment at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy.

The equipment drive is sponsored in part by Academy Sports + Outdoors, FOX Sports Southwest and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. For more information, call 817-533-1730 or visit www.texasrangers.com/equipment.
