Three Minor League players suspended

July 19th, 2019

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that three Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Minnesota Twins Minor League pitcher Jesus Medina, Arizona Diamondbacks Minor League shortstop Teofilo Mendez and free agent Minor League pitcher Wandy Moya have each received a 72-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program.

The suspensions of Medina, who is on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Twins, and Mendez, who is on the roster of the Dominican Summer League D-backs, are effective immediately. The suspension of Moya will be effective upon his signing with another Major League organization.
