Twins place right-handed pitcher Zack Littell on 10-day injured list

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Zack Littell on the 10-day Injured List with a left hamstring strain (retro to July 31). Littell appeared in two of the Twins’ seven games, allowing four runs on six hits in 3.0 innings with three walks and one strikeout.

To replace Littell on the 30-man roster, the Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Jorge Alcala, who appeared in two games for the Twins in 2019, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings. The 25-year-old spent most of the 2019 season with Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Rochester, combining to go 6-7 with a 5.47 ERA (110.1 IP, 67 ER), 39 walks and 116 strikeouts in 31 games (16 starts).
