Twins recall Lewis Thorpe from Triple-A St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled left-handed pitcher Lewis Thorpe from Triple-A St. Paul.

Thorpe, who will be in his third stint with the Twins this season, has appeared in two games (1 start) for Minnesota, posting a 3.60 ERA (5.0 IP, 2 ER) with just three hits allowed, one walk and three strikeouts. He will make the start tonight against the Texas Rangers at Target Field.

To make room on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Brandon Waddell to Triple-A St. Paul. Waddell, who was recalled on Monday, made two appearances, allowing six runs (5 earned) on five hits in 1.0 inning pitched.
