Twins Recall Randy Dobnak From Triple-A Rochester

Lewis Thorpe Optioned to Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Randy Dobnak from Triple-A Rochester and have optioned left-handed pitcher Lewis Thorpe to Rochester.

Dobnak, who will be in his second stint with the Twins, has appeared in three games (2 starts) for the Red Wings this month, going 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA (16.0 IP, 4 ER), five walks, nine strikeouts and a .167 opponents’ batting average. The 24-year-old completed his single-season climb from Single-A Ft. Myers to the Twins with his Major League debut on August 9 against Cleveland, scattering six hits with three strikeouts over 4.0 scoreless relief innings.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Twins optioned left-handed pitcher Lewis Thorpe to Triple-A Rochester after Sunday’s game vs. Detroit. During his most recent stint with the Twins, Thorpe made two relief appearances, allowing three runs on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched.
