White Sox make two roster moves

ARLINGTON, Texas – Prior to today’s series finale at Texas, the Chicago White Sox optioned left-handed pitcher Tanner Banks to Class AAA Charlotte and recalled infielder Lenyn Sosa from Charlotte.

Sosa, 22, has combined to hit .316/.367/.512 (110-348) with 16 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs, 58 RBI and 57 runs scored over 85 games this season with Class AA Birmingham and Charlotte. He also appeared in four games with the White Sox from June 23-27, going 1-12 (.083) with a double and two runs scored.

Banks, 30, is 1-0 with a 3.16 ERA (15 ER/42.2 IP) and 36 strikeouts over 29 appearances with the Sox in 2022, his first season in the major leagues.
