ATLANTA – Prior to tonight’s game at Atlanta, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Jon Jay on the 10-day injured list with a right hip strain and recalled outfielder Ryan Cordell from Class AAA Charlotte.

Cordell, 27, is batting .227 (44-194) with seven doubles, six home runs, 20 RBI and 18 runs scored over 81 games with the White Sox this season. He also has appeared in 14 games with Charlotte, going 14-51 (.275) with five doubles, one homer, six RBI and eight runs scored.

Jay, 34, is batting .267 (44-165) over 47 games this season, his first with the White Sox after signing as a free agent on January 9, 2019.
