White Sox purchase contracts of three players

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have purchased the contracts of infielders Jake Burger and Gavin Sheets and right-handed pitcher Tyler Johnson.

 All three players were selected by the White Sox in the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, and all three are ranked by MLB Pipeline among the top prospects in the organization.

Burger was drafted by the Sox with the 11th overall pick out of Missouri State, Sheets in the second round out of Wake Forest and Johnson in the fifth round out of South Carolina.

Following the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster increases to 40.
