Red Sox sign six additional players selected in 2017 June Draft

The Boston Red Sox have signed six additional players selected in the 2017 June Draft.

The Boston Red Sox have signed six additional players selected in the 2017 June Draft.
 
Vice President of Amateur Scouting Mike Rikard made the announcement.
 
The signings include second baseman Brett Netzer (3rd round), who has been assigned to short-season Single-A Lowell. Outfielder Tyler Esplin (7th round), shortstop Andre Colon (11th round), and catcher Beau Hanna (12th round) also signed and will report to the Gulf Coast League Red Sox.
 
Boston also signed outfielders Angel Gonzalez (19th round) and Luis Torres (34th round), who will report to the Dominican Summer League Red Sox.
 
In all, 27 of the 40 players selected by Boston in the 2017 June Draft have been signed to contracts, including 12 of the club's top 13 picks and 16 of the top 20.
