The Red Sox in partnership with the Minnesota Twins today announced that each club's charitable foundation will donate $100,000 to launch a special fundraising campaign for the Southwest Florida Community Foundation to assist with hurricane relief efforts throughout the region.
Hurricane Irma affected the majority of the state of Florida and hit the Ft. Myers area last Sunday. While the Red Sox and Twins facilities in Ft. Myers suffered moderate damage, many areas of Southwest Florida, including Lee County, sustained significant damage and are in need of help.
