BOSTON, MA - The Red Sox wives will raise funds for two non-profit organizations this week with the 27th annual "Strike Out Hunger" fundraiser at Fenway Park this weekend, and the online auction of baskets filled with Red Sox players' "favorite things" to benefit RESPOND, New England's first domestic violence prevention agency.

The Strike Out Hunger event will take place on Friday, July 13, and Saturday, July 14, raising funds for the Greater Boston Food Bank through a collection of donations from fans at Fenway Park gates. Every $1 donation will provide 3 healthy meals to those in need in eastern Massachusetts.

Fans can make a cash donation at all Fenway Park gates starting at 5:40 p.m. on Friday and 12:35 p.m. on Saturday. Red Sox Wives will give autographed pictures of Red Sox players (while supplies last) to fans that make a $10 donation. The fundraiser runs until the second inning with Red Sox Wives greeting fans at the gates until first pitch. Fans can also "Text to Give" throughout the game by texting SOX to 20222.

Over the past 26 years, the Strike Out Hunger event has raised over $351,000, providing more than one million meals for the hungry across eastern Massachusetts.

In addition to the weekend fundraiser, starting today, July 9, fans can bid on baskets filled with Red Sox players' favorite things, including autographed cleats, batting gloves, and other items. The online auction will run through Sunday, July 15, at 10 p.m. on redsox.com/basketsforgood. All proceeds from the auction will benefit RESPOND, New England's first domestic violence prevention agency.
