Reds homestand highlights May 3-6

150th Anniversary Celebrations – May 4: The Cincinnati Reds season-long celebration of baseball’s first professional team kicks into high gear this weekend. As part of the salute to that legendary club, the 1869 Red Stockings Pavilion outside the Reds Hall of Fame will be officially dedicated on Saturday, May 4 at 5 p.m. The significance of May 4 is that the first game played by the Red Stockings was on May 4, 1869, with a 45-9 win over the Great Westerns of Cincinnati. Saturday also includes a commemorative Mr. Redlegs Bobblehead in an 1869 uniform and Reds players wearing the first of 15 throwback uniforms this season

Friday, May 3, 2019 – Reds vs. San Francisco Giants, 7:10 p.m. (Dates open at 5:40 p.m.)

Fireworks Friday: Rozzi’s fireworks show set to a “Reds 150th Anniversary” soundtrack will begin approximately 10 minutes after the game ends, presented by PNC Bank.

Reds Country Athletic Achievement Award: The Moeller basketball team will be honored during pregame ceremonies and receive a Reds Country Athletic Achievement Award for winning the 2019 Ohio High School Division I state championship.

Browning First Pitch: Reds Hall of Famer Tom Browning will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on behalf of Reds 150th Anniversary corporate partner PNC Bank.

1869 Pavilion Dedication: The new 1869 Red Stockings Pavilion, located outside the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum, will be officially dedicated at 5 p.m. The event is open to the public.

150th Anniversary Commemorative Mr. Redlegs Bobblehead: As part of Super Saturdays, bobblehead of the Reds mascot in an 1869 Red Stockings uniform to the first 20,000 fans.

1902 Throwback Uniforms: All Reds players and on-field personnel will wear throwback uniforms from 1902. The Reds wore this style during home games in the inaugural year of the “Palace of the Fans” ballpark. Details at reds.com/150.

Scooter Gennett Fathead® Wall Decal: As part of family day at the ballpark, a Scooter Gennett wall decal to kids 14 and younger.

1911 Throwback Uniforms: All Reds players and on-field personnel will wear throwback uniforms from 1911. The Reds adopted a solid navy blue color scheme for their road uniforms several times during the early 20th century. Details at reds.com/150.

Reds Futures High School Showcase “March at the Majors”: Players and coaches from 91 high school baseball and softball teams who participated in the eighth annual Reds Futures High School Showcase will be featured in a “March at the Majors” pregame parade. MVP’s from the games will be recognized on the field during pregame ceremonies.

Buffet with Browning in The Handlebar: Fans can dine and watch the game in The Handlebar for just a $65 upgrade, which includes a buffet meal. Plus, meet “Mr. Perfect” Tom Browning from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Mental Health Awareness Month: Representatives from the Lindner Center of Hope will participate in pregame ceremonies to recognize the month of May as Mental Health Awareness Month. Frances and Craig Lindner, founders and board members of Lindner Center of HOPE, will offer up a ceremonial first pitch.

Field Trip Day: Almost 1,000 students from local schools will be attending today’s game for Field Trip Day. Each student will receive a workbook that explores the science and math behind baseball.

Pat Moran collectible bobblehead: The Reds Hall of Fame & Museum continues its collectible bobblehead series in 2019 with a new lineup of Reds legends. Starting in May is Pat Moran, the manager of the 1919 World Series champion Reds. Bobbleheads are free with regular-price admission to the Reds Hall of Fame (or Great American Ball Park tour) on Saturdays and Sundays in May, while supplies last. There is a limit of one bobblehead per visitor per day.

Veterans and Kids Free: Thanks to the Sargent Family Foundation, all veterans and active military personnel receive free admission to the recently-renovated Reds Hall of Fame & Museum. Backpack-only gates added at main ballpark entrances

• In an effort to speed up entry for fans at Great American Ball Park’s busiest entrances, the Reds are creating backpack-only security lines at the main gates on Crosley Terrace and at the Reds Hall of Fame breezeway. When fans with a backpack approach the gates on Crosley Terrace and near the Reds Hall of Fame, Reds security personnel will direct them to the designated backpack-only lines. The new process went into effect on April 23. Exceptions will be made for diaper bags, personal medical bags and Reds Head Kids Club backpacks.
