RHP Paul Blackburn recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas
ARLINGTON, Texas. – The Oakland A’s recalled right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn from Triple-A Las Vegas to serve as the 26th man for today’s doubleheader.
Blackburn will start today’s 1:05pm CT game at Globe Life Park, marking his first Major League appearance of the season. In 11 starts with the Aviators this year, he is 6-1 with a 4.55 ERA, 45 strikeouts, and 18 walks in 57.1 innings pitched. His last Major League appearance came on July 6, 2018 at Cleveland.
For his career, Blackburn is 5-4 with a 4.48 ERA in 16 starts at the Major League level. In 86.1 innings pitched, he has surrendered 91 hits and 22 walks to go along with 41 strikeouts. He’s allowed three or fewer runs in nine of those 16 starts. This will be his first career appearance against the Rangers.
