PHILADELPHIA – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Jake McGee (left knee sprain) from the 10-day injured list, have selected the contract of infielder Brendan Rodgers from Triple-A Albuquerque, and have optioned right-handed pitcher DJ Johnson and infielder Pat Valaika to Triple-A.

  • McGee, 32, suffered a left knee sprain in his second outing of the season on April 1 … has allowed two hits with three strikeouts over 2.1 innings pitched in 2019 … made three rehab appearances with Albuquerque, posting no record while allowing one run on three hits with two walks and one strikeout over a combined 3.1 innings of work … is in the second season of a three-year contract, his fourth season overall with the Rockies after being acquired from Tampa Bay along with German Márquez on Jan. 28, 2016 in exchange for outfielder Corey Dickerson and Minor League infielder Kevin Padlo … among active left-handed relievers, ranks sixth with 471 appearances and fourth with 459 strikeouts since his first full season in 2011 … has a career Major League record of 25-20 with a 3.55 ERA (416.1 IP, 164 ER), 120 walks and 465 strikeouts over 479 games with Tampa Bay (2010-15) and Colorado (2016-19).
