The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled right-handed pitcher Yefry (pronounced Jeffrey) Ramirez from Triple-A Indianapolis.

To make room for Ramirez on the 25-man active roster, right-handed pitcher Dario Agrazal has been optioned to Triple-A.

Ramirez began the season with Norfolk (Orioles’ AAA), where he went 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA (18.0ip/3er) in four starts while holding opposing hitters to a .177 batting average against.

He was recalled by Baltimore on April 29, where he went 0-2 in four appearances (one start) before being optioned to Triple-A on May 20. Ramirez was designated for assignment on May 22 and acquired by Pittsburgh on May 27 for cash considerations or a player to be named.
