Royals Host Grow With The Pros Event Tuesday

The Kansas City Royals Grounds Crew, together with Royals Charities and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, will host a field maintenance clinic, Grow with the Pros, at Kauffman Stadium tomorrow, May 23, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Kansas City Royals Grounds Crew, together with Royals Charities and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, will host a field maintenance clinic, Grow with the Pros, at Kauffman Stadium tomorrow, May 23, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants for the invitation-only event will have the opportunity to step onto the field at Kauffman Stadium to learn proper field care tips from members of the Royals Ground Crew. Senior Director of Groundskeeping, Trevor Vance, and his crew will cover topics including field maintenance, mound and home plate management, repairing problem areas and game day preparation. Royals General Manager Dayton Moore will be a guest speaker at the event.

Two previously-selected schools, Raymore-Peculiar High School and Holden High School, will each receive $10,000 grants from Royals Charities and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund for field renovations for the softball and baseball programs. Sponsors of the event are John Deere and Diamond Pro.
