Seven Astros players named to the Starters Election; 28-hour voting period begins today for the MLB All-Star Game

HOUSTON, TX - “The Starters Election” voting for the MLB All-Star Game begins today, Wednesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. CT with seven Astros finalists vying for a starting spot in the 2019 Midsummer Classic.

On Friday, these seven Astros were named finalists for The Starters Election: 2B Jose Altuve, 3B Alex Bregman, OF Michael Brantley, C Robinson Chirinos, SS Carlos Correa, OF Josh Reddick and **OF George Springer. **This is the most player representation by any team in “The Starters Election” for the American League.

During this second round of voting, the ballots will be cleared for fans to vote once on Astros.com/Vote, and submit up to 17 unique player votes on Google. The winner at each position (including three outfielders per league) will be named a starting position player for the 2019 Midsummer Classic.

The Astros encourage fans to vote as much as possible during this 28-hour voting period to make this year’s game an #AllStrosGame. A kick-off voting rally will take place today from 1- 2 p.m. at the AT&T Store, located at 3773 SW Freeway, Houston, TX 77027. Shooting Stars and Shuttle Crew will be on-hand to give out game tickets and exclusive prizes to fans who vote the maximum amount of times (while supplies last).

Voting during “The Starters Election” will conclude tomorrow, Thursday, June 27 at 3 p.m. CT. Results of “The Starters Election” will be announced at 6 p.m. CT that night on ESPN.
