The Texas Rangers announced today that the club has acquired International slot compensation from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for minor league infielder Brallan Perez.
The 21-year-old Perez was originally signed by Texas as a non-drafted free agent on October 1, 2012. He has split the season between Low-A Hickory (.359, 2 HR, 10 RBI in 21 G and High-A Down East (.234, 1 HR, 8 RBI in 46 G). Perez was promoted from Hickory for his second stint with Down East on Thursday.
