Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Kyle Gibson to Triple-A Rochester. Gibson made 18 starts for the Twins this season, posting a record of 6-8, with a 6.08 ERA (94.2 IP, 64 ER), 16 walks and 62 strikeouts.
To replace Gibson on the 25-man roster, the Twins will activate left-handed pitcher Jaime Garcia, who was acquired by the Twins in a trade with Atlanta earlier today. Garcia is probable to start on Friday night in Oakland.
