Twins recall Drew Rucinski and select contract of Jason Wheeler

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Drew Rucinski from Triple-A Rochester. Rucinski made one appearance for the Twins earlier this month, allowing two runs on five hits in 3.1 innings pitched.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Drew Rucinski from Triple-A Rochester. Rucinski made one appearance for the Twins earlier this month, allowing two runs on five hits in 3.1 innings pitched.
Additionally, the Twins have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Jason Wheeler from Triple-A Rochester. Wheeler made eight appearances (7 starts) for the Red Wings this season, going 4-1 with a 4.50 ERA (44.0 IP, 22 ER), 10 walks and 37 strikeouts. The 26-year-old was selected by the Twins in the eighth round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Loyola Marymount University.
Both players will be in uniform for today's game vs. Houston, Rucinski will wear uniform number 32 and Wheeler will wear number 50.
