Twins reinstate Hughes, place Breslow on disabled list

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned right-handed pitcher Phil Hughes from rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester and reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned right-handed pitcher Phil Hughes from rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester and reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list. Additionally, the Twins have placed left-handed pitcher Craig Breslow on the 10-day disabled list with left thoracic rib cage soreness.
Hughes made three appearances with Triple-A Rochester on his rehab assignment, posting a 3.00 ERA (3.0 IP, ER) and allowing three hits and two walks while striking out one. Hughes, who is 4-3 with a 5.74 ERA (47.0 IP, 30 ER) in nine starts for the Twins this season.
Breslow has appeared in 27 games for the Twins this season, posting a record of 1-1 with a 5.28 ERA (29.0 IP, 17 ER), 10 walks and 18 strikeouts.
