Twins roster moves for April 16

April 16th, 2019

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Duffey from Triple-A Rochester. Duffey pitched in three games for the Red Wings this season, allowing one run on two hits in 6.0 innings with three walks and 11 strikeouts. He appeared in 19 games for the Twins last season, going 2-2 with a 7.20 ERA (25.0 IP, 20 ER), four walks and 19 strikeouts.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Andrew Vasquez to Triple-A Rochester. Vasquez, who was recalled last Wednesday, appeared in one game for the Twins.

Duffey is expected to join the Twins today in Minneapolis and be available for tonight’s game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays.
