Tyler White to be Thursday's Astroline Guest

HOUSTON, TX - Houston Astros infielder Tyler White will be the guest on Astroline this Thursday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. CT. Astros Community Outreach Executive and former TV play-by-play broadcaster Bill Brown will serve as host. Brown will host his third consecutive show, while current Astros TV and radio broadcasters will alternate hosting duties for the remainder of the offseason.

HOUSTON, TX - Houston Astros infielder Tyler White will be the guest on Astroline this Thursday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. CT. Astros Community Outreach Executive and former TV play-by-play broadcaster Bill Brown will serve as host. Brown will host his third consecutive show, while current Astros TV and radio broadcasters will alternate hosting duties for the remainder of the offseason.
Thursday's Astroline, which is presented by Karbach Brewing Co., will air on the Astros Radio Network, the Astros flagship station KBME SportsTalk 790 AM and will stream online at Astros.com/Astroline. All shows are scheduled to broadcast on KBME SportsTalk 790, but are subject to change due to scheduling conflicts. Astroline broadcasts live, weekly from 6-7 p.m. CT during the offseason.
PLEASE NOTE REGARDING AUTOGRAPHS - Fans can pick up a free raffle ticket at Pluckers on Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. (one raffle ticket per fan) for the chance to receive a special autographed photocard. A limited number of winning tickets will be selected during the Astroline broadcast between 6-7 p.m. Fans must have a winning ticket/voucher to receive an autograph. Only Astros supplied Photo Cards will be signed.
For the fifth consecutive season, Astroline airs from Pluckers Wing Bar, which is located at 1400 Shepherd Dr., Houston, Texas, 77007. Astroline runs through March 2018 (12 remaining segments), and is open to all Astros fans with no admission charge.

White, 27, had an impressive 22-game stint with the Astros in 2017, his second season in the Majors. He knocked nine extra-base hits (6 doubles, 3 homers) amounting to an .853 OPS (.328 OBP/.525 SLG). Per Statcast, White posted the 12th-best "Barrels per Plate Appearance" mark (9.0) among all Major League players with at least 30 batted balls, and posted a 30.4% line drive rate. White has played in 107 games with the Astros across the past two seasons (2016-17), making appearances at first base (77 games), second base (6 games), third base (3 games) and left field (2 games), with two relief appearances on the mound. He has posted a .406 slugging percentage in that span, as 33 of his 71 hits have gone for extra bases (22 doubles and 11 homers).
Brown is entering his second season as Astros Community Outreach Executive, and 32nd season with the organization. Brown was named the Astros primary TV play-by-play broadcaster in 1987, where he remained for 30 seasons until the conclusion of the 2016 campaign. He called several important moments in franchise history, including seven postseason appearances, Jeff Bagwell's 400th career homer in 2003 and Craig Biggio's 3,000th career hit in 2007.
