CHICAGO -- Following today’s game vs. Boston, the Chicago White Sox optioned outfielder Adam Engel and left-handed pitcher Caleb Frare to Class AAA Charlotte.

Engel, 27, is batting .212 (11-52) with two doubles, one triple, one home run, four RBI and seven runs scored over 26 games this season.

Frare, 25, has gone 0-0 with a 10.13 ERA (3 ER/2.2 IP) in five relief appearances over two stints with the Sox in 2019. He was recalled from Charlotte prior to today’s game.

The White Sox will make corresponding roster moves prior to tomorrow’s series opener at Cleveland.
