White Sox return Eloy Jiménez from injury rehab assignment and reinstate him from the injured list

HOUSTON – Prior to tonight’s series opener at Houston, the Chicago White Sox returned outfielder Eloy Jiménez from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list. He takes the roster spot of outfielder Nicky Delmonico, who was optioned to Charlotte following yesterday’s game.

Jiménez, 22, has been on the injured list since April 28 with a high right ankle sprain suffered on April 26 vs. Detroit. He appeared in five rehab games with Charlotte, going 7-22 (.318) with a homer and RBI. Jiménez is hitting .241 (19-79) with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored over 21 games this season with the White Sox.
