The Texas Rangers today announced that right-handed pitcher Andrew Cashner has been activated from the 10-day disabled list and will start Thursday afternoon's game in Cleveland.
 
To make room for Cashner, RHP Preston Claiborne has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
 
Cashner was placed on the DL on June 17, retroactive to June 15, with a left oblique strain, sustained in his start on June 4 at Houston. He is 3-6, 3.50 in 12 starts with Texas this season.
 
Claiborne was purchased from Round Rock on June 22 and allowed 3 runs in 2.0 innings in his lone appearance on June 26 in Cleveland.
