Rangers Baseball Foundation to host Labor Day race at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on September 3

Inaugural race to include 1K fun run/walk and 5k to raise money for Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation

Arlington, Texas – This Labor Day, Monday, September 3, Rangers fans are invited to participate in the first-ever Rangers Race at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington benefiting the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

The Rangers Race is part of the Foundation’s commitment to increase youth fitness and help members of the community lead healthy lives. Building up to the race, runners will be able to form fundraising teams to support the Rangers Baseball Foundation.

“The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation is committed to supporting youth health initiatives and this race provides an opportunity for families to enjoy a fun day of exercise here at Rangers Ballpark while helping the Rangers Foundation at the same time,” said Texas Rangers Senior Executive Vice President and Foundation President, Jim Sundberg.

The day of activities will kick-off at 7:40 a.m. with 1K fun run/walk around the Ballpark that is open to fans of all ages. The inaugural Rangers 5K Race begins at 8:00 a.m. Runners will be greeted by Rangers Wives and the Fox Sports Southwest Girls who are serving as the Race Marshals at the starting line. The race begins and ends at Nolan Ryan Expressway near Home Plate with the course directing runners past Mark Holtz Lake, The Road to Six Flags and Ballpark Way. Water stations will be operated by Texas Rangers staff and students from the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation’s just keep livin’ program that encourages local youth to develop healthy lifestyles.

Rangers Captain will be on hand to congratulate the runners as they cross the finish line and receive their completion ribbons and race T-Shirts. After completing the race, runners can enter the Ballpark for a post-race celebration and refreshments.

Registration for the 1K fun run/walk is $12. Early registration for the 5K is $26 until Aug. 26, and $28 from Aug. 28, until Sept, 2. Fans wishing to register the day-of the event will be charged $32. Race fees will be waived for runners, 70 and older. Rangers Race is being coordinated by Rangers Enterprises and RunTIME Running Company.
