Rangers acquire INF Jason Donald from Kansas City in exchange for cash considerations
Infielder will report to Round Rock this weekend
Arlington, Texas - The Texas Rangers today have acquired infielder Jason Donald from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for cash considerations.
Donald, 29, has spent the entire season with Triple-A Omaha, batting .231 (18-78) with 3 doubles, a home run, and 5 RBI in 25 games with the Storm Chasers. The right-handed batter has logged time at all four infield positions with Omaha. Donald appeared in 170 major league games with the Cleveland Indians from 2010-12, batting .257 (142-552). He was originally selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 3rd round of the 2006 draft out of the University of Arizona.
Donald will be transferred from Omaha to Round Rock and placed on the paternity list. He is expected to be activated at some point this weekend during Round Rock's home series with Omaha.
