Wolf opts out of Minors deal to play in Korea

Rangers right-hander Ross Wolf exercised an out clause in his Minor League contract on Friday in order to sign with SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Wolf pitched in 22 games for Texas last season, including three starts, and went 1-3 with a 4.15 ERA. In his first Major League action since 2010 with the A's, he struck out 21 and walked 15 over 47 2/3 innings.

Wolf cleared waivers on Nov. 4, and the Rangers outrighted him to the Minor Leagues. The 31-year-old re-signed the same day, agreeing to a Minor League deal with an invitation to Spring Training.
