The Texas Rangers announced today the following roster moves:

--Received LHP-OF Anthony Gose back from the Houston Astros. Gose, who was selected by Houston in the Major League phase of the 2017 Rule V Draft on December 14, has been assigned outright to the Triple-A Round Rock roster and will receive a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp. He will join the club in time for Monday's workout. Gose pitched in one game for Houston this spring, issuing 3 walks and 3 R-2 ER without retiring a batter.

Texas had originally signed Gose to a minor league contract on December 4, 2017. He spent the last of three seasons in the Detroit organization in 2017, when he saw his first action as a pitcher. The left-hander posted a 0-2 record with a 7.59 ERA (9 ER/10.2 IP) over 11 relief appearances with High-A Lakeland, recording 14 strikeouts against 6 walks with a 1.219 WHIP and .189 opponents batting average. He last pitched on July 2 before missing the duration of the season with left elbow inflammation. Once rated as one of the top prospects in baseball, Gose owns a career .240 batting average with 12 home runs, 69 RBI, and 57 stolen bases across 372 major league games as an outfielder for Toronto (2012-14) and Detroit (2015-16).

--Optioned RHP Ariel Jurado and LHP Brett Martin to Double-A Frisco and RHP Jonathan Hernandez to High-A Down East.

--Assigned LHP Jeffrey Springs, INF Andy Ibanez, and OF Jose Cardona to minor league camp.

With today's moves, the Rangers will have 62 players on the club's spring training roster, including 24 non-roster invitees, and one player (Palumbo) on the 60-day disabled list. Three pitchers on the list of non-roster invitees are rehabbing from 2017 Tommy John surgery: Chi Chi Gonzalez, Shawn Tolleson, and Edinson Volquez.
