The Texas Rangers today announced that right-handed pitcher Ricardo Rodriguez has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Texas will make a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's game with the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
Rodriguez was recalled from Round Rock on June 18 but did not appear in a game during Texas' three-game sweep in Kansas City. He opened the season on the 60-day disabled list with right biceps tendinitis before being activated and optioned to Round Rock on May 29.
