After late scratch, Jennings scores winning run

ST. PETERSBURG -- Center fielder Desmond Jennings was scratched from the Rays' lineup prior to Friday night's 5-4 win against the Orioles because of neck stiffness.

Jennings, who was slated to hit second, was replaced by Sam Fuld, who batted seventh. He loosened up in time to enter as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning. Jennings, who finished 2-for-4, hit a double in the 18th, then scored the winning run on David DeJesus' walk-off single.

"That was fun, man," Jennings said. "To be on the winning side of a game like that is awesome. For two teams to go out and play as hard as we did for two hours, that's probably the best win of the year for us."
