Rays reinstate Chirinos, Guyer from 60-day DL
ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays took care of some transactional activity on Friday, when they reinstated from the 60-day disabled list catcher Robinson Chirinos and outfielder Brandon Guyer and selected left-hander Franklin De Los Santos.
Bill Chastain is a reporter for MLB.com.Chirinos and Guyer were both acquired prior to the 2011 season in the deal that sent Matt Garza to the Cubs.
Chirinos suffered a concussion during Spring Training and Guyer had left-shoulder surgery, tabling both for the season.
De Los Santos compiled a 7-2 record with a 2.11 ERA in 51 combined appearances at Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham.
The Rays' 40-man roster currently has 34 players.
