Reds, Indians to host spring charity golf event

Proceeds To Benefit H.O.P.E Team

Goodyear, Arizona - The Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians will host their second annual charity celebrity golf tournament on Friday, March 2 at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona. The shotgun start begins at 1:00 p.m. MST.

Proceeds from the spring training event once again will benefit the H.O.P.E. Team, a non-profit organization that supports the patients and families at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear. Last year's inaugural tournament raised almost $20,000 for the H.O.P.E. Team.

Current and former Reds and Indians players - along with front office personnel, broadcasters and coaches - will participate in the golf tournament, which will include sports memorabilia, raffle items, silent auctions and experiences. Cookin' On Wood will provide the post-round BBQ dinner.

The cost is $300 per person or $825 per threesome. Entry fee includes an event polo shirt and goodie bag along with green fees, bag handling, cart, range balls and the awards dinner. Each threesome will be joined by a member of the Reds or Indians baseball family.

The deadline for registration is Friday, February 17. Register by phone at (623) 302-5678 or by email at
