Homestand Highlights - April 16-22 - Reds vs. Indians and D-Backs

Friday, April 16 – Reds vs. Cleveland Indians, 7:10 p.m. (gates open at 5:40 p.m.)

Jackie Robinson Celebration: Each year on April 15, Major League Baseball celebrates Jackie Robinson Day to salute Jackie breaking Baseball’s color barrier. The Reds join MLB to honor Jackie’s legacy by celebrating his life, values and accomplishments during tonight’s game. Players and coaches will wear #42 jerseys with a ‘42’ patch on the caps and uniform sleeves. Commemorative base jewels and lineup cards will also be used, along with videos saluting Jackie and his impact on the game. Additional activations include:

- The Players Alliance Batting Practice Tee: Special batting practice T-shirts, which have been designed by The Players Alliance and provided by Nike, will be worn by players prior to the game.

- Jackie Robinson Baseball Card: _Fans in attendance will receive a Jackie Robinson baseball card, presented by the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio. _

- Diverse Business Partner Award: _RCF Group will receive the 2021 Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner Award. The award is presented annually by the Reds and MLB to recognize diverse-owned businesses that exhibit and continue the legacy of Jackie Robinson. Based in West Chester Township, RCF Group is an office furniture and workplace design firm. _

- Virtual School Visit: Pitcher Amir Garrett and first base coach Delino DeShields will meet virtually with Clark Montessori High School student-athletes to discuss Jackie Robinson’s legacy.

- Jackie Robinson Cap at the Reds HOF: In partnership with local footwear and clothing retailer CORPORATE, fans can purchase a limited-edition Reds cap with a Jackie Robinson #42 patch only at the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum (and Hall Shop in the Fan Zone), while supplies last. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

Ohio Cup Series: The Reds and Indians kick off the annual quest for the coveted Ohio Cup. The Indians are defending champs, having won three out of four games last season. At the conclusion of the series in Cleveland (May 7-9), media from the Reds and Indians will vote for the Frank Robinson Most Outstanding Player of the Ohio Cup Series.

First Pitch: MaCio Teague, guard for the Baylor University men’s basketball team and 2015 Walnut Hills High School graduate, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. MaCio scored 19 points in Baylor’s 86-70 win over Gonzaga in the 2021 NCAA Tournament championship game.

Saturday, April 17 – Reds vs. Cleveland Indians, 4:10 p.m. (gates open at 2:40 p.m.)

Eric Davis Funko POP!: Fans in attendance will receive an Eric Davis Funko POP! collectible presented by Skyline Chili. (A limited number of silver versions will be randomly distributed to select fans.)

National Anthem: Country-pop artist Devon Beck will sing the national anthem. A 2020 high school graduate, she recently made the move from her hometown in Central Pennsylvania to Nashville to pursue her singing and songwriting career.

Sunday, April 18 – Reds vs. Cleveland Indians, 1:10 p.m. (gates open at 11:40 a.m.)

Amir Garrett Fathead® Wall Decal: As part of family day at the ballpark, Amir Garrett wall decal to kids 14 and younger, presented by Ohio Laborers.

Tuesday, April 20 – Reds vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, 6:40 p.m. (gates open at 5:40 p.m.)

Wednesday, April 21 – Reds vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, 6:40 p.m. (gates open at 5:40 p.m.)

Get vaccinated and save on Reds tickets: Fans can purchase $10 View Level tickets by showing their COVID-19 Vaccination Card at the Great American Ball Park ticket windows with at least one shot completed. Offer is good for Monday through Thursday Reds home games in April and May and can only be redeemed in person at the ballpark ticket windows during normal business hours. Leo Cardenas Book Signing – April 17: Reds Hall of Famer Leo Cardenas is signing copies of his biography “Cuba’s Campo Corto” on Saturday, April 17 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Admission to the Hall is free for members or with a book purchase from the Hall of Fame. Visitors can pre-purchase books from the Hall Shop and will be assigned a signing time to allow for social distancing. Skyline Chili Reds Futures High School Showcase presented by Cincinnati Children’s Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics

Jackie Robinson Games at the Reds Youth Academy – April 17: The Showcase will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day on Saturday, April 17 by hosting teams from 11 Cincinnati Public Schools at the P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy. Players will wear “42” jerseys in honor of Robinson. Schedule of games at reds.com/HSShowcase.

Gabby Rodriguez Day at the Reds Youth Academy – April 18: The inaugural Gabby Rodriguez Day at the Reds Youth Academy on Sunday, April 18 will feature three softball games played in memory of the Western Hills High School student and former Reds RBI softball player who passed away in 2018. A pregame ceremony with Gabby’s family is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. prior to the Western Hills vs. Woodward game at 1 p.m.
