Red Sox Community Programs

The BoSox Club was established in 1967 and is recognized by the Red Sox as the official booster club. Each month the group gathers for lunch and a question and answer session with a Red Sox player and alum.

The Red Sox, MLB Commissioner's Office, and Players Give Back have created the Commissioner's Community Initiative. The ticket programs are designed to support organizations that assist underprivileged and underserved members of our community by providing complimentary tickets to select home games.

The Red Sox Community Homestand helps a variety of local nonprofit organizations raise awareness for their cause by offering the opportunity to share their mission with Red Sox fans at various home games throughout the season. This initiative invites groups to bring a small number of volunteers (2-6) to a regular season game or series of games to distribute collateral about your group to fans attending the game at Fenway Park. We ask that you respect this opportunity as a chance to reach out and not use this to fundraise.

Lee County has been the Red Sox Spring Training home since 1993. In 2012, the Red Sox celebrated the opening of JetBlue Park at Fenway South and have continued a tradition of championing efforts off the field across Southwest Florida.

As part of our community service outreach, Red Sox front office staff, players and coaches participate in "Days of Service", volunteering at non-profits across Southwest Florida. Select players also make appearances at the JetBlue Park Open House, the Lee County Boys & Girls Club annual dinner and the Diamond Dinner benefitting the Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida.

For the past twenty years, the Red Sox and El Mundo Newspaper have partnered to honor top Latino middle school students from across Massachusetts as Latino All-Scholastic All-Stars. Candidates must be of Latino origin, have a good school attendance record and a "B+" or above academic record.

The students are invited to select games throughout the season and are recognized during the pregame ceremony. Since its inception, more than 2.500 students have been honored and over 15,000 tickets have been donated to the community.

Each season the Red Sox and the Boston Public Library offer Massachusetts children the opportunity to "Read Your Way to Fenway". Children and teens between the ages of 5 and 17 read three books and write an essay about their favorite. Winners receive tickets to the game and are recognized for their achievements during the pregame ceremony.

Every Friday night throughout the season, the Red Sox and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center recognize an outstanding member of the medical community during the pregame ceremony that is searching for a cure and fighting disease within their respective field.

The Red Sox, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Teachers Association, is proud to honor local educators as a Most Valuable Educator. The program allows Massachusetts students to write an essay explaining why his/her teacher, coach or mentor should be honored before a Saturday game at Fenway Park.
