Sizzling Panda has 4 hits, breaks drought from right side

Third baseman raises average from .266 to .329 in course of three games

BOSTON -- How hot is Pablo Sandoval? In a matter of three games, the third baseman has raised his average from .266 to .329.

In Tuesday's 11-8 loss to the Blue Jays, Sandoval went 4-for-5. He has reached base by a hit or a walk in 10 of his last 12 plate appearances.

Sandoval's final hit of the night came with additional significance in that it snapped his 0-for-17 drought from the right side of the plate.

"Good to see him get the base hit right-handed, obviously," said manager John Farrell. "He's been grinding a little bit from that side of the plate. He's in a good place obviously, offensively. We talked about it yesterday. He's got a chance to capitalize on some highs, and he's doing that right now in a very good streak."

The ultimate competitor, Sandoval didn't take much satisfaction after a strong individual performance that came in a loss.

"I don't care," said Sandoval. "I just wanted to win. We came back in the last couple innings, and we did what we could."
