Third-round pick Denney agrees to terms with Sox

BOSTON -- The Red Sox signed their third pick in the First-Year Player Draft on Friday, coming to terms with catcher Jon Denney.

Denney had a big senior season at Yukon (Ohio) High School, hitting .459 with 14 doubles, six triples, 11 homers and 46 RBIs.

The Sox also came to terms with left-handed pitchers Corey Littrell (fifth round), Jake Drehoff (12th round), and Gabe Speier (19th round), as well as outfielder Jordon Austin (sixth round).

Sixteen of Boston's first 40 selections have signed, including 11 of the first 15.
